The clutch connects the engine to the gearbox, allowing you to change gears smoothly. Every time you pull away, stop, or shift gears, the clutch is working — so it naturally wears over time.

Common signs include:

• Difficulty selecting gears

• Engine revs rising but speed not increasing (slipping)

• Burning smell

• Juddering when pulling away

• Clutch pedal feeling soft, spongy, or unusually high

If you notice any of these, contact Express Vehicle Services , it’s best to get it checked quickly.

A healthy clutch keeps gear changes smooth, protects the gearbox, improves fuel efficiency, and helps prevent sudden breakdowns. Ignoring clutch issues can lead to expensive repairs later.

Most clutches last between 50,000–100,000 miles, depending on driving style, vehicle type, and how often you drive in stop‑start traffic.

At Express Vehicle Services, most clutch replacements take half a day to a full day, depending on the vehicle. We’ll give you a clear time estimate when booking.

Costs vary depending on the make and model. Express Vehicle Services will provide a clear quote upfront with no hidden fees.
