  • You can book an MOT up to 1 month minus 1 day before the expiry date and keep the same renewal date.

  • At Express Vehicle Services, most MOT tests take 45–60 minutes. Repairs or advisories may extend the time.

  • You will receive a VT30 failure certificate listing defects. Express Vehicle Services can complete repairs and retest once the vehicle meets standards.

  • You can take your vehicle away if:

    • your current MOT is still valid

    • no ‘dangerous’ problems were listed in the MOT

    Otherwise, you will need to get it repaired before you can drive.
